For the Final Major Project of my Foundation Diploma at Leeds College of Art, I chose to work with the theme of space and sci-fi, and decided to focus in particular on the characters of two space policemen who feature in the final few pages of Douglas Adams' 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. After experimenting with various things such as water refraction and the circuitboards in a radio I disassembled, I found I was most drawn to working with electrical tape, and managed to figure out a way to make it behave like a fabric. The final outcome was a full-sized space suit made of electrical tape, featuring peep-hole pockets, an embroidered logo, and a self-designed police ID card. I also made a jacket out of clear sellotape and high-visibility tape (not pictured) to be worn over the suit. The photos of the costume were also all edited by myself in my first encounters with Adobe Photoshop. The main inspirations for this project can be found on my Pinterest account, which you can see by clicking here
